Education is not only for our clients but a core belief for all the staff at Posture Plus as well.

The clinic employs Physiotherapists from many different countries which brings a depth and breadth of experience to areas ranging from general practice to more specialised areas such as the treatment of sports injuries, post-surgery rehabilitation, neurological conditions, persistent pain, scoliosis and ante-natal and post-natal conditions to name but a few. We actively participate in clinical research by monitoring our clients’ progress using research outcome measures such as questionnaires and photo and video recording.

All our physiotherapists have advanced post-graduate qualifications and have attended numerous professional development courses over their many years in the Physiotherapy profession. We are very proud of our strong in-house continuing education programme which has spanned over the last 15 years.

This serves to not only showcase and enhance the advanced analysis and manual skills of our staff, but ultimately, it aims to improve the outcome for all our clients. Our in-service presentations over the years have ranged from case study presentations of post-surgery clients, postural dysfunctions and scoliosis, advanced manual techniques for the treatment of temporomandibular pain TMJ (jaw pain), back and neck pain as well as taping techniques.

FAQ List

Is physiotherapy painful?

Physiotherapists commonly use manual therapy as a method of assessment and treatment Manual therapy treatment can include techniques that glide joints in a rhythmic manner (mobilisation), gap joint surfaces (manipulation) and/or use muscle contractions to restrict or loosen joints. Some of these treatment techniques can be more intense. If you feel discomfort during your treatment, do inform your therapist.

After your treatment you may experience some post-treatment soreness, which can last a day or two. This is a normal, temporary response to having a stiff area of the spine stretched or weak muscles exercised.

Does acupuncture hurt?

All the acupuncturists at Posture Plus are certified, skilled and experienced in using acupuncture as a treatment modality. They are able to insert the needles in a manner which minimises the pain. Most clients find acupuncture almost painless, as the needle is very fine and thin. Some people hardly feel the insertion of the needles at all but it does depend on the area of the body concerned and the sensitivity of the client and their condition. In some cases, clients who are very sensitive or have a phobia of needles may find acupuncture unpleasant. In these cases, it is strongly recommended that the client discuss their fears with their treating Physiotherapist before receiving acupuncture

What to expect from your first Physiotherapy session?

Our Physiotherapy sessions are typically 60 minutes in duration. For your initial assessment, please bring along your Doctors referral and any relevant investigation reports such as Xray or MRI for your Physiotherapist to review. Depending on your condition, the Physiotherapist may ask you to disrobe in order to access the areas which need assessment.  We also provide shorts, T-shirts and socks for you to use. Your Physiotherapist will assess your condition, make a musculoskeletal diagnosis and explain what treatment methods are best for your condition as well as the expected recovery process.

Who Can Benefit From Physiotherapy?

Anyone! Our Physiotherapists all have post-graduate training and extensive experience and each has specific areas of clinical interest. When you call us we will do our best to match you with the Physiotherapist who is best suited to treat you.

How often do I need to attend Physiotherapy Sessions?

Our initial goal is to address and then treat your area of concern using evidence-based treatment techniques.  Every client is treated as an individual and your frequency of treatment will depend on many factors. Always feel free to ask your treating therapist what is the best treatment schedule for your condition.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of treatment sessions needed is dependent on your condition and how you respond to treatment. Everyone is different but generally acute conditions should feel significantly better after 3 weeks and your treatment sessions should decrease in frequency after that time. It is very important to discuss with your treating therapist your response to treatment so that they can modify the frequency of your treatments accordingly.
